some tips

- when you go to register for baby items, wear comfortable shoes and a back brace. you're going to be there awhile. awhile = about four hours. and if you're a person who, when faced with too many options, cannot easily make a decision... you might consider doing this from the safe, lower-choice overload option of your couch and laptop. also, do some research ahead of time so you are armed with info to combat the advertising, cute things and price reductions.
(My mom was awesome and helped me do this over the weekend. Holy COW, is there a lot of stuff out there that I am supposed to know about? Or what? Man. It was fun, but I am glad that part is behind us!)

- when you close on your first home, if you haven't already, you will be so excited and happy. and then it will be weird b/c it is over. you will have just spent the greater part of your waking days pulling together papers, digging up old this and that forms, signing faxes, making budgets, taking and returning calls, learning to use a fax machine... no really. and then, poof, it's all done.
(We closed on Thursday! We officially move next month. I'll post photos once eric handles the current state of the jungle, erm, i mean, front yard. grass grows fast.)
