Last night on the elevator up to my apartment, a mother/daughter duo stood next to me.
Daughter: How are those shoes today? (Daughter points at leather sandals on Mom's feet.)
Mom: Oh, they're fine.
Daughter: Your feet aren't soaked?
Mom: Well, it's all in how you look at it, really. You have to keep telling yourself- This is refreshing!! Not- I'm definitely going to get pneumonia.
This morning, as I made my first Metro commute and subsequent walk from our new house in Northern Virginia to my office in DC, in the rain and 45 degree weather, I repeated to myself, over and over- this is refreshing, this is refreshing, refreshing, refreshing, refreshing.
