july showers bring september flowers... and a baby!

my best friend, courtney, hosted a beautiful shower for me in charleston last weekend. it was so perfect! i could not have asked for better company, a better or more tasty brunch, or nicer gifts to help welcome little adam in just a few more weeks!

we spent friday getting prenatal massages (yes, she's expecting too! our little ones will only be born 4 months apart!!), eating good food, maternity shopping (during which we also dragged along our impossibly beautiful, definitely not pregnant, and sweet friend jobeth who was such a trooper...), and walking and swinging at the waterfront park under the full moon. the air was so damp and sweet and the moon and breeze begged me to stay... i didn't. but it was hard to pull myself away, for sure.

the shower was saturday morning, and after tales of baby showers where the expectant mother was made to sit on a piece of plastic and another who "jumped" a car 5 hours before her induction, i laughed until my sides hurt. such a good time with some very funny, very sweet ladies.
saturday afternoon, i took off with my mom and visited my brother in columbia on our way back to my hometown. it was so nice to see him, his puppy dog and spend time all together with my family. back in my hometown, a good family friend gave us boxes and boxes of little boy baby clothes her little one has outgrown. i cannot imagine needing to buy much at this stage... we're almost totally set. adam is such a lucky little loved guy already! saturday night i stayed at my mom and dad's and sunday morning dad made breakfast. omelets, sausage, biscuits... the man knows what a pregnant lady likes!

it was such a great weekend home. i feel so blessed and lucky.

i look like a giant person- as in andre, seriously, next to cute little courtney... ah! 7 weeks to go...

I stumbled across your blog on accident yesterday and I can't tell you how entertaining it is to read! Your writing draws the reader in and makes me want to come back for more updates (even though I don't even know you!).
