have you guys tried those betty crocker "warm delights" minis? it's got to be a sin that these things are only 150 calories. i always have a sweet tooth in the evenings and have been looking for healthier (still yummy but less calories... who cares about health when it comes to sweets, really? right?) desserts. giving up cold turkey just isn't an option.
you open the package and there is this tiny little package of cake mix. you actually mix the powder with water, stir vigorously, put the caramel on top and "bake" in the microwave. the fact that they're made by betty should have tipped me off to the bake-yourself opportunity, but i missed that.
when i first picked these up in the grocery store today, i was sad about all the packaging. cardboard all around, then plastic wrap. just seemed wasteful and excessive. but as i licked the bowl to get the last bit of my chocolate caramel cake-lette two minutes later, i'd already forgotten the packaging.
seriously, as in i had to go back and look at it to get the name of it, just to write this post.
a sin. i tell you, a sin.

mr. adam slept from 7pm to 4am yesterday! i could not believe it! we've started a real bedtime routine which involves a nightly bath and a warm bottle in the dark. we have a sound machine and wearable blanket that's only for night time. i have kind of half a$$ed a night time routine until now b/c we have been so busy with going places and having guests, etc. but this week we are doing the routine every night come hell or high water. i am determined. and, it seems to be working. he takes a short morning nap (hour, tops), long afternoon nap (three hours, would be longer if i didn't wake him up!) and hits the hay around 7pm nightly. if he would just make it till 5 or 6am i'd be pleased. that will be perfect for when i go back to work next month.
another new thing is that he goes down easier. until this week (or last? hard to remember...) he wanted to (or so we thought?) be in deep sleep before he was put down in his crib. now, when he first seems drowsy/asleep, we put him down. and, after approximately 10.3 seconds of whimpering, he is OUT like a log. everytime i check on him, he hasn't moved, i put a hand on him to be sure he's breathing! sleeping like a, well, baby.
i am planning a week+ trip to SC at the end of the month with the baby. already, i am putting my own self to sleep by making mental spreadsheets of all that i'll have to pack and how i am going to travel with him at his age with all his accessories. for the first time, the girl traveler in this family might have the smaller suitcase than the boy traveler!
