wait, you mean i can't do it ALL? really?

"The most important thing she’d learned over the years was that there was no way to be a perfect mother and a million ways to be a good one."
— Jill Churchill

so, i'm learning.

life lately's been a tornado. finally getting paid again, juggling an 1.5+ hour commute (each way), being a good mom and actually SEEING my child during the week, keeping my head above water at work, making sure i have clean dishes, clothes to wear, doctor's visits, clean bottles, travel, yoga, workouts. oh man, yeah, and let's not forget-- I HAVE A HUSBAND. an amazing, super-husband at that. but a relationship i don't want to backburn and simmer, regardless. and friends. and thank god for that. but yeah, it is a lot. i am sure i'm not feeling anything any new mom with a stressful job and long commute and husband who literally lives at work half the time feels. adjustment, adjustment, adjustment. do they sell tools for weathering tornadoes? i recently learned about a thing you can buy to keep water from getting out of your shower around your shower curtain and onto the floor. if THAT exists... well.

speaking of water... i made it! i drank only water and coffee last week-- except for one sugar free redbull, and that was only because i was driving at night after work to sc. with a baby. and a puppy. believe me, i/we needed me to have it. otherwise, it was easier than i expected and i intend to keep it up.

i've had more people sign up for my yoga series in advance this time than ever before. i am guessing it has something to do with time of year (new year's resolutions, anyone?), but also hope that it has to do with word of mouth. several repeaters and some new people too. starts next sunday. i see this class as my oasis in the storm. i am genuinely looking forward to teaching it. yoga is a practice- practice living in the moment, practice being present, practice asana, practice meditation. well, i see this class as practice for my future life of calm. whenever that's going to be. :)

(side note, as i am typing....oasis, storm, tornado, water-drinking... what's my fix on water? i had a dream last week that i was on a sinking boat and we tried to jump onto the coast guard boat and it was like a deflated inner-tube. wth?)
