do you guys know john muir?

i am watching the national parks documentary on pbs and there is so much talk of muir, who really catapulted natural preservation in america. he founded the sierra club, if that helps.

but what a life he led?! i had no idea. he was amazing.

i can't wait to read books about him... he's def on my library list now. he walked thousands of miles worshiping god by loving his creations. the quotes from his diaries on this documentary are simply beautiful.

(another weird/interesting note about him: sadly, as a child, his dad beat him severely. his father did this until muir memorized and could recite 3/4 of the old testament and ALL of the new testament BY HEART. can you imagine?)
