last night, eric was watching some cop show on tv and, around 10, i said- ok, i'm off to bed.

he said- all right. i'm gonna finish this, then i'll be right in to bed.

ugh. nearly every night eric ends up falling asleep on our couch and i have to wake him to come to bed. so i said- aw, c'mon, you're gonna fall asleep!

he said- no, i wont! i am really into this show. i'll be in, just give me thirty minutes.

so, i snuggled under our covers into our bed with my book and started reading. a good chunk of time passes and i still hear our tv blasting. then i hear eric say, loudly, YEP.

YEP is what eric normally says when he has fallen asleep on our couch and i yell for him to wake up and come to bed. his eyes pop open, surprised at himself for being asleep at all, and he yells YEP.

only this time, i was in bed. reading. quietly. weird, i thought to myself. ok maybe he woke up on his own and he'll be in now. back into my book i went.

several minutes passed. and again, i hear eric yell YEP. so weird, i thought again. so i throw off my covers and go in and find eric, half asleep on our couch.

we laughed and laughed and laughed after he came to bed and revealed to me that an "airwick" commercial kept waking him up. every time the woman on tv said "airwick" he snapped awake, thinking i was yelling to him from the hall.
