this afternoon when we got home from work and daycare, adam begged me to play outside.
he kept grabbing fistfuls of white dandelion puffs, then opening his palm to watch them float away in the sunlight. i never want to forget watching him do that. seeing the world through his fresh eyes is a new awake.

don't want to say too much b/c i don't want to jinx it, but our house is under contract! now just to complete the inspection and appraisal. we're set to close in just over a month. things are really rolling now.

this morning, i stopped at walgreen's to grab q-tips on my way to work. i don't know about you guys, but we can't go a day without a q-tip in our house. when i walked in, i was sort of aimlessly trolling the back of the store looking for the q-tips and a walgreen's employee asked me: can i help you find something, ma'am.
i said: no that's ok. i am just looking for q-tips.
he said: oh, they're probably around over there (he motions toward the cold medicine aisle). that's a medication, right?
i paused and looked at him perplexed. i'm sure my eyebrows knotted together in confusion. i said: no.... it's ok, i'll find them. thanks anyway.
i walked around some more and was on the back aisle of the store, looking near the band-aids when i hear the man say: here they are ma'am. here you go.
i turn around to look at him and see that he has his finger on a box of tampons. at first, i think: ok maybe they're on this shelf and i'm missing something here. this thought couldn't have lasted more than .2 seconds.
laughing, i said: those are not q-tips. do you know what q-tips are?
he said: no.
people. how? just how.
(and, i love how he deduced that any woman wandering around walgreen's at 730am could only possibly be searching for a box of tampax.)
