last thursday, adam and i skirted off to cape cod to join eric there for a little weekend get-away. eric's been there for work training, and before you go feeling all lucky-for-him, you should know he's been sleeping in an old army barracks, with a room mate, with no AC, with no wheels, and has school all day long. this was a mini vacation for all of us.
we rented a little cottage and tried three separate cape cod beaches. the beauty of the areas we explored was overwhelming. the ocean is a soft blue green, literally the color a person means when she says "sea foam." there is so much natural beauty too. curvy roads, marshes and old trees, wild flowers everywhere. and then art boutiques, cafes, used book stores... so pretty. the little lodge & cottages business that we rented from was owned and operated by a one-man-show. on our last day, eric and i fantasized about owning something similar after he retires and living a slow and happy life there. (still need to get through at least one winter, i know.)
