NYT should really call me. i could have written this article.

why, farmer's table is just down the street, i can see it as i type this. rachel and i enjoyed burgers and salad street-side when she came to visit.

willard beach hosts adam and me at least a few times a week and sometimes hit the square after for a baked treat or ice cream.

eric, adam and i just went biking out on peaks island - remember?

we often stroll (or run) to the public market house for cheese, beer, or milk - three essentials in our house.

madgirl world is a neighbor, literally, and i was amazed the first time i went in (again, with rachel). radiohead and the shins blared, drowning out any conversation, while meredith allen worked in the back of the studio/shop, oblivious to our presence.

eric and i had date night at bayside bowl just last week. a cooler than cool bowling alley/bar/music venue. we might not have gone, since it's sort of in a dodgy neighborhood, if not for the free game passes we kept accruing at the thursday night free concerts in memorial square.

and those repurposed abandoned brick buildings? we live in one - an old warehouse and train station-turned downtown apartments, exposed brick, beams and piping on our walls and ceilings.

portland, we love you! and so, it appears, does everyone else! friends, you better come visit me before the word gets out. (any more than it already has.)

My office is going through some reconstruction at the end of the week - hence two paid days off - and ALL that i've been thinking is that I wish wish wish I had plane ticket money and I would be on my way up there Thursday morning.

Soon enough....
