this week:
-adam turned two! in-sane. i am so in love with adam, but it's also still, STILL, weird to say i have a son, especially a 2 year old. some fun adam-isms these days: says sing a song, mommy. says did you hear that? or did you hear firetruck?. can recognize numbers 1-5 and letters A-G or so, and M (a-d-a-m). obsesssed with music and art, loves to "lolor" and paint. obsessed with firetrucks and firemams (firemen). says bess you and scue me and ganks (thanks) and mees (please) often. when counting, counts 1-2-A-b-c GO! or 7-8-c-d-e GO or some variation on that. when he is proud of himself or others, says you did it mommy! or i did it! asks me to sing "baby ciuca" (baby beluga, which i have sang to him since he was born, but he asks for baby ciuca. melts my heart.) when i tell him no to a snack request (tooties mommy?), he counters by saying how 'boouuuttt... apples? or how 'booouuut cheese? loves pointing out lady and mam (man). this goes on for hours while we're out together- mommy, a mam! mommy, a lady! with pointing and shouting. calls blueberries and cherry tomatoes "balls" and will ask for "more balls" after he's eaten them all. randomly has started calling me momm-mia. man, i could go on and on and on. he does things to amaze me about once an hour these days.

-started my new job. a professional job, but just part time. a short walk from home, and next door to adam's new part time preschool (also a new start this week!). couldn't be more perfect. 1 grant proposal and 1 event already under my belt.

- said farewell to eric, after two weeks home. he will be part of the crew on a sailboat heading north from baltimore for a bit. we look forward to seeing him home again very soon.

- downloaded my first kindle book. it was a surprise from eric for my birthday and so far, so good. i wondered how i would like it, but i love it so far. i can't wait for libraries to catch up with e-books. but in the meantime, $10 for a new book in seconds works for me!
