post script.

things that feel like paddling lately

fighting with my kjsdflskdnfv9239449t8&(*&*&% printer and my o934ulkdnfknds9f9()(*&(*&*hjsndf internet connection.

coming home to heat in half of the house, no heat in the other half.  in maine.  in january.

and then remembering i sent our LAST pull up to preschool for adam's nap time today.  since it is literally 2 degrees outside and i didn't want to drag us both back out in the cold night, i put him to bed in two swim diapers left over from last summer and am hoping for a, ahem, lite nite.

mountain of laundry.  that is really starting to smell like pee.  (thanks adam)

a million places to be tomorrow in just four short hours.

still being NOT lying down in my bed reading at 10pm, my goal for every night this week.  ( i do have to give myself a shout out for meeting one goal tho, and that was to have a zero tv night.  it was rough b/c my dvr is packed with lots of things to catch up on.  AND, eric is away for work for just tonight, which would have allowed me lots of RHWOA catching up w/o his excellent commentary.  so tempting.  alas, i have too much to do and wanted to really knock it out.  sans tv.)

speaking of eric, not having had a night out alone with him in..... can't really remember. :(

eff.  forgot to get coffee today too, so that can be added to my paddle-list around 6am tomorrow when i wake up.

so so so so many decisions to make about work, maternity leave, finances, moving and where we'll live (we DEF need more space), childcare for TWO children vs my part time work sched... a good friend reminded me this week that i don't have to make ALL the choices today, which is true.  but everyday, as my clothes get tighter and i have trouble bending down to lace up my snow boots, i have a constant growing reminder on my front side that time is a'tickin.

is it a common expression: the days are long, but the years are short?  i heard a mom say it once, a mom my age who also had a little boy.  i remind myself this often - so many stupid details (see above), but so so so so many blessings.  sometimes it's hard to remember in the thick of things, right?
