yearly resolutions are so big and, well, sort of unmanageable. i'm spending some time reflecting on what i seek to accomplish this week.
- my goal this week is to SLOW DOWN and take care of myself. slow down. slow down. it's not natural to be pushing this hard during a season of reflection and rest anyhow. not to mention, physically, it's breaking me. (uh, mentally too.) i will accomplish this goal by: being inside my bed, under covers, with a book, by 10pm every night this week, starting tonight. i will drink more tea and get reacquainted with my heating pad (yes, i am a grandma). i'm going to work on planning/doing things ahead of time. so much of my 9pm to 12am rushing is from the smallest things that have now become big things because i didn't just do them when they were small. i will continue a little thing i've been doing that has been an enormous shift - getting up before adam. i have noticed that if i get up at 6:30, just 1 hour before him, i accomplish SO much more in that hour, freeing me up for the time he's awake to 1- not be as stressed about all the other stuff i need to do and 2- be a more engaged parent. doing this helps me feel more accomplished and confident all day long. also, then when HE naps, i too can put my feet up and rest or sleep too, instead of trying to squeeze in "stuff" during his down time.
