i wanted to post about the weather getting better, so that next year when i feel i'm at the end of my rope, weather-wise, i can be hopeful about the end of winter at the end of march. i even have photos of little flowers that have pushed through the dirt, green spikes from bulbs finally reaching toward the sun again. men blowing all the sand away, which is EVERYwhere, now that the snow melted. it was so long since we saw grass, that the day the snow actually melted enough for me to see it again, i really noticed - oh hey, GRASS. lucas is here. last friday it was 67ish and we walked around in a town nearby shopping, having ice cream, laughing with adam, no coats on.
i wanted to post all this.
but then yesterday, on the first day of spring, it snowed all damn day.
when i first moved here, people said - schedule a vacation in march. march is the longest month.
it's true... but a few days ago i was filled with hope. i compromised with the weather, thinking - ok, listen, i can take 40+ every day. just 40+ and we'll be good.
sigh.
at least it melted fast on the roads and there is only a couple inches on the grass... it's not enough to cover those little baby bulbs poking through the dirt. and at least we took every one's advice: we're headed to dc this weekend for a visit, a quick fast forward to springtime.
