we live in a nice place. we live in a corner, so we only have 2 neighbors around us, one above. but ok, the walls are paper thin.  this might sound snobby, but i miss living in a house.

some things i will not miss about living in our apartment:

- hearing the neighbor upstairs walk into the bathroom, the clink of the toilet seat being raised and clinking against the tank, his pee stream, and the flush.
-hearing the neighbors beside us phone ring and then hearing her say "hello?"
-being woken up night after night after night when the neighbor beside us has a bad night cough.
- smelling CIGARETTE smoke in my bathroom sometimes so strong, you'd swear there was a teenager hiding in my shower smoking.  but no, just the smoker neighbors wafting over.  G-R-O-S-S... and so hard to handle while pregnant/extra sensitive to smells.
- hearing the neighbor upstairs play techno and then 20's swing on repeat.  and singing too.
- hearing the neighbor upstairs laugh loudly every so often, apparently watching some awesomely funny tv show or movie that i've yet to see.
- having everything on our kitchen wall rattle when our neighbor next door comes home and lets his front door slam.
- wondering (on the flip side...) if our neighbors have heard every time we've ________ fill in the blank (include: fight, fart, discuss money, sneeze, gossip, etc).

in addition, i will not miss

- parking in a parking lot, walking through parking lot, unlocking 2 separate doors, walking down one hallway, unlocking a 3rd door, going up an elevator, walking down another hall, and unlocking a 4th door to our actual apartment.  especially when i have groceries + toddler + big ol' pregnant belly.

- fire alarms.  we've had at least 10 in a year. (tho seeing the fire trucks every time is a treat for adam)
