why today was so awesome:

- strawberry/blueberry/peach/coconut milk smoothie and egg whites for breakfast.  filling, healthy, easy to make, and pretty.  all things i like in a breakfast.

- playing with marin at 7am, which has become some time for just her and me - this girl has some serious smiles, spiky feather like hair, and is cooing to me more and more each day.  i can't STOP kissing her fat little cheeks (more on these later...) and doing everything i can to make her smile.

- asking adam - how did you sleep?  and his reply: mmmm, like a ladybug.

- productive work.  knocking shiz off the list.  bringing home some bacon.  being an adult.

- finding the floor of my bedroom again (folding and sorting clothes... sounds mundane, but feels SO GOOD now that it's done.)

- an hour long walk on the water heaving about 60 lbs (i'm guessing... adam weighs 32, marin 12, and then there's the stroller....) while listening to music.  today might have been the most beautiful day that ever, ever existed.  seriously. the sky is a crazy color of blue here, the breeze perfection, the air smells real and earthy and the temperature couldn't be better (72 during our walk, said the time/temp building...) the path was gravel and i loved watching marin's cheeks jiggle as we strolled along.  i remember rachel saying that adam's cheeks shook when he ran, when he was first learning to walk and run as a baby.  i am happy to have another jiggly cheeked baby.

- dancing and singing with adam and marin tonight, adam making up the moves (which included 3 legged down dog on his own suggestion :))  and singing along at the top of his lungs to skinny love, bon iver.  "i TOLD you" happens to be one of his favorite things to say anyhow, so this song is pretty high on the love list in our house right now.  (as in, mom, i TOLD you it was light outside!  or mom, i TOLD you this food is spicy!)

- adam whispering to me as i rocked marin to sleep in her room.  he's learning.

- running up the stairs to adam's room about a half hour after saying goodnight b/c i heard the fireworks at the minor league baseball stadium near our house start up.  adam and i sat on his bed, pulling back the curtain, and watched them together in the dark.  as cars went by, he told me that the cars were racing.

- going to bed at a decent hour - nite nite!
