handicapped mouse- update

almost forgot!

here's the rest of the story.... oh yes... there is an end to this terrible story.

the day the last trap went missing, i had a doctor appointment in the afternoon. after that, i visited with a coworker-friend and met her new baby boy. (so adorable! polar opposite of what awaited me at home.) after that, i went to lowes and after that to the grocery store. (for anyone keeping track, yes, it was a friday night. and yes, i am officially boring, pregnant and old.)

i came inside, visions of baby boys dancing in my head. set my groceries on the counter. looked down.

sticking out from under the dishwasher, i see a little black corner. that looks like the corner of the ..... trap... i thought. it is wrapped/stuck in the fringe of a throw rug i have there.

oh. god.

i placed my toe on the rug. i bent my knee and pulllllllllled so slowly on the rug.

oh. god.

the corner got bigger and bigger until half the trap and. oh. god. half a mouse. oh god. dead mouse. oh. god. pulled out from under the dishwasher.

i ran out of the kitchen, to the living room. i called eric, who was at work until monday. yes. monday. should i get the neighbor? i can't go in the kitchen again this weekend. i don't know what to do.

eric says he will call his parents, on a friday. at 9pm. i feel like a total ass. but i know i cannot go back in there and face the mouse.

i waited most of the time for them to arrive on the front porch. but then, when i realized that was kind of lame, i went inside to wait. they came right after that. his mom, my hero, disposed of the mouse and trap. she also took my rug home to wash it for me.

good news to report, however. no mouse activity since then.

the END.
