"happiness is to be found along the way, not at the end of the road, for then the journey is over and it is too late. today, this hour, this minute is the day, the hour, the minute for each of us to sense the fact that life is good, with all of its trials and troubles, and perhaps more interesting because of them."

~robert r. updegraff, business advisor, via the daily love.

while it's often (very often?) easy to forget in the moment, i do try frequently to remind myself that the "trials" of our life/career choices/moving/etc will make our lives SO much more interesting and memorable.  and i know that when we look back on this time, this life, that eric and i will have lots of fun laughs at the dumb things we did, head-shakes at what seemed so hard "back then", we will have seen so many special places and things, met amazing and interesting people, learned and learned and learned and learned, and be glad that this was the story we created.

i learned to knit!  serious.  never fancied myself as someone who'd learn or enjoy this, but a new friend taught me and i LOVE it.  i can't stop once i start and think about it when i'm not doing it.  with all the indoor time we'll have this winter, coupled with how many evenings i'm home solo, i see many snuggly hand-made things in my future...
