the next read in my que. (tho i really MUST find some fiction and get down to it. too many essays, yoga texts, research studies on child development, and pushes to continue on a creative path are going to keep me awake for the rest of my LIFE.)
ahem.
i would venture to say it's every mother's plight - a home that never ever feels clean or tidy? i beat myself up over this a LOT inside. not because i feel like others are judging me. just b/c i am judging me. and i hate it.
i'm really well organized. my dad used to joke that my room looked like a disaster but if he asked me where anything was i could find it. this is still true. we have all the makings of organization.... i know where all our important things are... most everything has a place... but i can't ever seem to catch up on the keeping tidy.
i spend an hour cleaning the bathroom and then, while helping adam go poop, i notice a random sock on the floor behind the toilet. our desk is a CONSTANT stack of books, bills, important documents"to be filed," post it notes with shopping lists and songs we want to download. i can't be 100% certain our sink has ever been without a dish inside. our fridge always has a new fun smell each month. and i pretty much live out of the pile of clothes sitting beside my dresser, instead of those that are actually stored inside it. we do a pretty good job of keeping CLEAN. and a pretty bad job of keeping TIDY.
sigh.
anyhow, maybe this book will make me feel better about it and help me embrace my life - the life that has me so exhausted from doing what i LOVE (opening and navigating a new business, teaching yoga, growing a little jumping bean inside, being a mom and wife...) that by the end of the day, i could give a crap about the pile of 14 shoes by the door, the fact that the kitchen table has become a design and print studio, and adam's pj's from 3 days ago are still laying on the bathroom floor..........................
